Practice your speaking skills with your study buddy. Work on asking and answering the target questions from class. Use your guided notes to help you!
Reminder about leveled speaking goals:
  1. First level: Make sure your using the correct structures and providing logical responses for each question. 
  2. Next step: Provide details. Use complex sentences with pero/porque. Describe more foods and include frequency terms. Really focus on going in depth with your sharing/describing/ explaining your likes and dislikes and your habits.
  3. Third level: Talk about others. Share about your family and friends' habits. Use other conjugated forms of verbs to do so.
  4. Fourth level: Make different questions from the sheet(s) examples using similar structures to show you can transfer your knowledge and skills.

  • use full sentences

I encourage you to do a few things:
  • practice your Q & A for the Unit 3 Speaking Evidence and get better at responding. Then go through the Request to Retest process and RETAKE so that a new, better grade could replace your old grade if you have a better conversation.
  • prepare for the upcoming survey project by working on your verb conjugation skills
  • prepare for the upcoming survey project by working on your sentence structures 
  • prepare for the upcoming survey project by using the resource on the right called "Evidence Coming Up"

Grab yourself a copy of the Request to Retest, get out your orange OR blue speaking evidence sheet with the lists of questions on it, and have someone ask you for your answers. Focus on:
  • responding in full sentences
  • using "pero" and "porque"
  • choosing the correct conjugations for who you are talking about (yo como instead of yo comer OR yo comes)
  • using the 'a' or 'an' ending with gustar/encantar/molestar/disgustar
  • using ES (is) vs. SON (are) correctly
  • choosing the right adjective to math
  • using stem-changers in your answers, remembering to conjugate the first one but to leave the 2nd infinitive (ex. yo puedo hacer ejercicio).

La Tarea/Homework:
  • Continue to survey peers and collect data.
  • Make Google Survey of your questions in Spanish and English and send Sra. Moore the link to your survey at [email protected] if you want more data.
  • A-day classes, all data must be collected by Friday - our first day "evidence day" of writing our paragraphs. 
  • B-day classes, all data must be collected by Monday - our first "evidence day" of writing our paragraphs.
Practice & Enrichment
When creating your 6 survey questions. 
- Make sure that:
  • ​they use different verbs (see the box of verbs on your yellow packet)
  • are interesting and you want to ask them
  • have variety/ask about different kinds of things (physical, social, emotional, mental health...)
  • you play with language! Be creative but write in pencil! We can fix them up before you actually ask your peers the questions!
  • For example, with the language you know,
    you could ask things 
    like:
  • Although cookies are bad for your health, do you still eat them?
  • How many hours of Netflix do you watch each weekend? 
  • I drink coffee all day. Do you think I should drink less? Why or why not? 
We will review how to make graphs next class after you've collected your data but if you already know how to do it and want to get started on that part, here are some online graph makers that are easy, cool, & printable!

Make sure to make the graphs! ​Remember:
Your math & your graphs are NOT being graded! 

Bar graphs are easier than pie graphs if you struggle with math. Make sure to label your graph.

When making pie graphs, you need to find percentages. To find the percentage, divide the number of people who said an answer by the total number of people you surveyed. 
For example, if 7 of 32 people said they like black coffee, divide 7 by 32 to get: 0.21875 and round to the nearest tenth to .22, which is 22%!
