Use today's class to strengthen your skills!For a retake of the Criterion B: Reading:
1) Look at your reading quiz. For each of the questions you got the answer wrong and/or you didn't have the correct evidence, Sra. Moore wrote you a question or a hint for figuring out the correct answer. IF you feel like you need more hints, click on the link below that says: HINTS for the Reading Quiz! 2) If the problem is you do not know the unit vocabulary yet, you will want to work on that first. Use the Quizlet sets above. There are 2 that are really helpful below as well. 3) Then get out a lined sheet of paper and reread. Use the feedback and try again to answer and/or provide more accurate evidence. 4) Show Sra. Moore your corrected work before or after school or during ACP to see if you're correct. Please make sure all of your HW assignments have been completed & turned in on Google Classroom!Remember: Retakes are during 9th & 10th grade ACP and after school on Thu. 2/9 & 2/16! |

Ideas for a Retake of the Unit 3 Quiz:
For a retake of the Criterion D: Writing
(Vocabulary & Grammar): 1) Use the Quizlet sets below. For the basic vocabulary, have out paper notecards while you use Quizlet. Use the flashcards first if you don't know the words for the foods and drinks yet. For any word you do not know when you flip the electronic card, make a paper flashcard. Practice those every day until the retake. 2) Once you know the words in one form, practice using the other forms of each word using the articles & nouns Quizlet set. Use the "Write" function. Have out lined paper and a pencil as you work through the set. For each one you get wrong, write it in English on your paper and then write the correct Spanish translation 5 times next to it. Repeat this daily until you are not making mistakes. 3) For the Advanced section with sentences: Use the "Day 5 of Unit 3 Google Slides" above. Get out paper and a pencil. Press slideshow. Practice each of the activities and then check your work. Use the links to the Quizlet sets to practice full sentence structures. Write down correct sentences on your paper and rewrite them each 3 times. Repeat until you're not making errors. 4) Make corrections to the original quiz. Have Sra. Moore review your work & tell you if you're correct. 5) Come in for tutoring after school on Thu. from 3:30-4:15 or at a different time (talk to Sra. for alternate options) if you need support before a retake. |

Ideas for studying:Speaking: Use the speaking study guide on the left & have a conversation with a friend.
Listening: Go back to Day 14 & use links in the slides as well as your guided notes to listen to and try & understand Heritage speakers. You can do the same with today's materials. Also, use the audio function on the Flashcards of the Quizlet sets that have full sentences. Do you understand what they're saying? Practice listening to the words & reviewing vocabulary. Writing: Use the Write function on any Quizlet set above. Reading: Use the Match function on any Quizlet set above. Read your Unit 3 Reading Quiz passage with a friend and try to figure it out if you never looked at it again and/or tried to correct any errors you made. Day 10 had a resource called "Hints for the Reading Quiz." |

Day 3 of the survey project was today! NEXT CLASS IS DAY 1 OF THE ACTUAL EVIDENCE!Make sure to make the graphs! Remember:
Your math & your graphs are NOT being graded! Bar graphs are easier than pie graphs if you struggle with math. Make sure to label your graph. When making pie graphs, you need to find percentages. To find the percentage, divide the number of people who said an answer by the total number of people you surveyed. For example, if 7 of 32 people said they like black coffee, divide 7 by 32 to get: 0.21875 and round to the nearest tenth to .22, which is 22%! You can create BAR graphs to represent your data: OR PIE graphs - use your math & protractors!
REMEMBER: THE EVIDENCE WILL TAKE PLACE OVER TWO CLASS PERIODS IN CLASS! |

Please make sure to join my Quizlet Classroom if you haven't already. If you join, you have access to the WRITE function, which is by far the BEST function to use before the evidence.
Steps: 1) Join my Quizlet Classroom. 2) Pick a Quizlet set. 3) Click on Learn. 4) Click on Options (button in top right corner). 5) Click on "Start" next to "Write mode." And lastly, remember, you cannot write any of your paragraphs in English OR Spanish and bring them into the classroom on your writing evidence days!
